The High Court has issued a warrant of arrest against a journalist accused of killing his wife five years ago in Nairobi’s Umoja estate.

Lady Justice Roseline Korir issued the warrant of arrest against Moses Dola who is facing a murder charge for the death of Wambui Kabiru, a former NTV journalist.

The trial had come up on Tuesday and he was expected to appear in court but he was missing when the case number was called out.

Prosecution protested against his failure to turn up and the judge had to order that he be arrested and detained for the matter to proceed.

CASE TO ANSWER

In May, Lady Justice Korir ruled that he had a case to answer.

Mr Dola was released with a Sh500,000 cash bail after he was charged.

At one time, Ms Kabiru’s mother had wept in court and forced the trial to be started of afresh when the case was to be postponed.

Ms Kabiru was found dead in the couple’s house in Umoja estate in 2011.

It is not the first time a warrant of arrest has been issued against Mr Dola.
