Juja MP told to clear name on sexual harassment claims
Members of the Kiambu County Assembly want Juja MP Francis Munyua to come clean on allegations of sexual harassment or resign.
Speaking at Witeithie village on Wednesday, when they accompanied Governor William Kabogo in distributing bursary cheques, the leaders said the allegations against the legislator are serious and amount to abuse of office.
“If what the MP is alleged to have done is true, he has no choice but to step aside and allow for investigations,” said Kiambu Deputy Speaker Anthony Macharia.

Similar sentiments were expressed by fellow MCAs Kimani Gacihi (Mang’u), Emilly Warutere (nominated) and Joel Waichere (Kalimoni) who said Chapter Six of the Constitution was clear on issues of integrity of public officers and abuse of office.
Police have launched investigations into claims by Susan Wambui, the MP’s secretary, that he fired her after she turned down his sexual overtures.
However, Mr Munyua , popularly known as “Wakapee”, has denied the allegations and maintained that the woman never worked for him.
“She has never worked for me and I only know her by virtue of living about 200 meters from my home,” he said.
Governor Kabogo said he has no problem with Mr Munyua, but added that the MP should come clean on the allegations.
“Even though these people (MPs) have been fighting me and making all manner of accusations on my person, I am willing to work with your MP if he clears the hurdle he is facing,” the Governor said.
He said his government has set aside sh 120 million for bursaries in the county this year.
