K24 top editor Peter Opondo resigns
Seasoned TV journalist Peter Opondo, the MediaMax Limited Group Managing Editor, has resigned from the fledgling media house.
According to an internal memo from the company’s CEO Ian Fernandes, dated September 10, 2015, Opondo, who joined the media house in 2013, tendered his resignation in May but was requested by the management to stay on until completion of the company’s’ strategic plans.
“On behalf of all the Management and Staff of Mediamax, I would like to thank Peter for all his instrumental efforts in growing the Mediamax brands from the year 2013 to they are today.
“We wish Peter all the very best in his new found venture and look forward to work with him in due course,” Fernandes’ memo read in part.
Mr Opondo, who boasts of vast experience in the media industry, previously worked at Citizen TV as a News Managing Editor, before joining Mediamax Limited Group which owns K24 television, People Daily newspaper, Kameme FM and Milele FM.
