Kabete MP’s bodyguard laid to rest
The Late Samuel Kimathi who was a bodyguard to the Late Karaba MP George Muchai was laid to rest on Saturday with calls on the government to ensure justice is done.
The deceased was buried at Laciathuriu village in Tigania East, Meru County in a ceremony attended by Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, his Limuru counterpart John Kiragu, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Nairobi PPO Benson Kibue.
Mr Aburi called on the government to not only ensure justice is done, but also ensure the young family of the deceased police officer is supported.
“We are happy that some suspects have been arrested and arraigned in court. We want the government to also increase the salaries of police officers who do the hard work of protecting Kenyans. The government should not also abandon the family of the deceased officers,” Mr Aburi said.
Mr Wamatangi noted that the government has promised to ensure the suspects are brought to book.

He called on the police to ensure that the perpetrators of the killings do not enjoy freedom in this country.
“We hear that those who killed the MP and the bodyguards were paid to do so. The police should ensure that the criminals face the law. This is the best we can do for the affected families,” Mr Wamatangi said.
Mr Kiragu lamented that the deceased police officer has lost his life at a young age and called on the government to make good its promise to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The late Kimathi was eulogized as a hardworking, diligent devoted Christian who devoted himself to his duties.
The 26 year-old who met his death on his birthday, February 7, has left behind widow Ms Lydiah Makena and a four year old son, Kelving Mutugi.
