Kabogo taunts Waititu on live TV and netizens are amused
Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has taken a swing at his political rival Ferdinand Waititu with a cheeky remark about the latter’s ‘inability’ to converse in an English interview.
Kabogo made the statement on Wednesday evening while at Citizen TV’s studio waiting room where he and Mr Waititu were waiting to go to separate interviews.
JKL show host Jeff Koinange made a surprise appearance backstage acknowledging the presence of the two in the same room.
Jeff went ahead to try and get a commitment from Mr Waititu for a future appearance in his show but the Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant remained silent.
And when Jeff moved on to greet Mr Kabogo, the governor lightly joked by saying, “Are you ready to conduct the interview in Kiswahili? That is why he cannot commit.”
The comment has been picked up by netizens on social media who started speculating why Mr Waititu does not want to agree to appear on the show.
However, Mr Waititu has appeared in several interviews conducted by local media including Citizen TV where he conversed well in English.
Below are some of the reactions from netizens.
