Kalonzo: ‘Ghost’ voter with my ID number is part of Jubilee’s scheme to rig elections

Wiper Democratic Movement leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has alleged that the Jubilee Party has already amassed 1 million votes that will be used to rig the general elections in August.

This is following discovery on Wednesday that the former Vic President’s national identity card number had been used to register somebody else as a voter in Wajir.

The anomaly was discovered when Mr Musyoka decided to confirm the status of his registration and was shocked to find that a voter by the name Salome Wanjiru Njoroge, 23, had also been registered using his ID number.

The Wiper leader is now claiming that the error was part of a wider scheme by the Jubilee government to rig the elections.

“We had gotten information that through the Registrar of Persons, there is a plan to rig these elections and that Jubilee already has 1 million votes through this kind of rigging,” Musyoka said.

He said the revelation was clear evidence that the IEBC voter register has massive errors that can easily be used to rig the August elections by locking out legitimately registered voters from casting their ballots.

Mr Musyoka said the opposition will not settle for anything short of a free, fair and credible election and urged the new IEBC team to move with speed to restore Kenyans’ confidence in the electoral process.
