Kalonzo Musyoka: I am in Nasa to stay

By ROTH MBULA February 7th, 2017 1 min read

Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed to stick with the opposition National Super Alliance (Nasa).

He dismissed as malicious claims that his party will go it alone in the August polls.

He said the media reports are propagated by forces in Jubilee coalition who feel threatened by the unity of the opposition.

Addressing journalists at Ufanisi Hotel in Kisii Town on Tuesday, Mr Musyoka said his appearance in the first Nasa rally in Bomet on Saturday was an indication that he was in the alliance to stay.

“I am in Nasa to stay, unless the National Delegates Convention decides otherwise. If they say I am not fit to represent the party in any position, it is only then that I can abide and of course with proper reasons,” he said.

The former Vice President was responding to reports that he might ditch the alliance and run a sole campaign for the presidency.

He also denied claims that he had a list of preferred candidates for various seats in his Ukambani backyard.

Mr Musyoka has teamed up with ODM leader Raila Odinga, ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula in the newly minted Nasa as their political vehicle to wrest power from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
