Kanze Dena celebrates firstborn son Nathaniel Amani’s 18th birthday

Former Statehouse spokesperson Kanze Dena is marking a significant milestone today, April 20, as her son, Nathaniel Amani, turns 18.

In a heartfelt message shared on her social media platforms, Kanze reflected on their journey together, highlighting Amani’s resilience and unwavering support throughout the years.

Taking her followers down memory lane, Kanze reminisced about the challenges they faced when Amani was younger and the sacrifices she made to provide for him.

“Bwana Nimerudi tena. 21/04/06 12:05 You blessed me. I prayed the Prayer of St. Francis Assisi. 18 years later, I come back to say thank it came to pass,” Kanze wrote.

Despite the hardships, Kanze praised her son for never giving up on her parenting journey.

She commended Amani for embracing his stepparents and siblings with grace and understanding.

“We have been through Winter, Autumn, Spring, and Summer, and you never changed. You winged it! When you didn’t have toys like your friends, couldn’t take you out to good places because we didn’t have them, and you embraced your stepparents and siblings like the champ you are… Never giving us co-parenting trouble!… And when God blessed us, you remained constant,” she added.

As Amani celebrates his 18th birthday, Kanze announced that he now has the authority to be on social media.

She fondly recalled a moment when Amani reassured her of her worth during a time when she struggled with low self-esteem.

“Today you officially have permission to be on social media… I want you to know that my greatest memory was the day we watched ‘Woman Without Limits.’ It was the first time I shared my battle with low self-esteem, and I did mention that I doubted if I was a good mother (almost 7/8 years ago). You held my hand, and hugged me for like 10 years ‘Mum you are the best mother I could ever ask for.. you are kali (strict) but you are my friend and I know you love me. I love you mummie.’ Those words came right back today as I stayed up to say another prayer for your next season,” Kanze shared.

In conclusion, Kanze encouraged her son to stay focused on his faith, emphasising the importance of Jesus as his greatest anchor as he navigates through life.

“Keep on keeping on Son… Don’t lose your focus on Jesus. He is your greatest anchor. (you will soon discover as you navigate through life). HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAMP! NEWEST VOTER IN TOWN.. MAMA LOVES YOU!” she wrote.

The former Citizen TV host is married to Nick Mararo.

Kanze has previously opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her baby girl, Natasha Anzani.

In 2021, she briefly mentioned her youngest son, Joe.

“This song highlights the fears I have as a mother na kunipa pia mwongozo wa kuwaombea wanangu Nathaniel, Eli na Joe mahali popote pale…@christinashusho hiki hata si kibao ..ni BAO au vipi kina mama…#prayingmum#mamaboys.”
