Kawangware ‘witch doctor’ beheads lover
A man chopped off his girlfriend’s head on Sunday night and then surrendered to the Muthangari Police station.
Geoffrey Machui is said to have stabbed Ms Purity Mwende severally in the stomach, chopped off her head and then threw it into a basket.
His 18 year-old girlfriend had reportedly spent Sh50 without his permission.
Dagoretti OCPD Mathew Gwiyo said the incident was reported by neighbors, but the suspect had escaped by the time police arrived in his house.
Neighbours claimed Mr Machui is a known witchdoctor in the neighborhood. They said he had returned home Sunday night accompanied by the girl.
The neighbors further said they did not hear any commotion in the house till Monday morning when they made the grisly discovery.

“We saw them together going into his house. It is a house where many people come for consultation as he is a witch doctor and we did not bother. We thought it was one of his clients,” Phoebe Ateyo, a neighbor, said.
She said a child alerted them of the killing after peeping through an opening in the iron sheet house and seeing the headless body lying in a pool of blood.
Police who went to the scene found the decapitated head inside a basket. The torso sprawled on the floor.
Parts of a human heart were also found at the scene.
Inside the house, Police took photographs of an assortment of paraphernalia including gourds, calabashes, bottles containing concoctions and a toy snake.
The body of the deceased is at the Chiromo mortuary.
