KDF officer shoots three relatives dead, then commits suicide
A Kenya Defence Forces soldier (KDF) on Tuesday morning drove to his relative’s home and shot three people dead before turning the gun on himself.
The incident happened at around 5:30am at Jua Kali area in Eldoret.
The soldier, who is based at Gilgil, had travelled on Monday night before driving to his relative’s home and killed his stepmother and two uncles.
Confirming the incident, Eldoret West police boss Zachariah Bitok said security officers have launched investigations into the incident.
According to Bittok, the soldier moved from his homestead, which is three kilometres away from where he committed the crime, armed with the gun.
He said officers are at the home to establish what caused the incident.
