Kenya power appeals for calm over outages

Kenya Power has appealed for patience as it works to restore electricity supply in various parts of Nairobi.

Power supply was disrupted in most residential areas following heavy rains experienced in the county on Monday evening.

The firm’s head of system control for Nairobi, Eng. Ralph Mwasi, said the sudden storm destroyed power lines causing widespread outages especially on the western and southern parts of the City.

He said power supply had been restored in many of the affected areas by Tuesday morning.

Supply in the remaining areas including Eastleigh section 2, Mbagathi Way, Imara Daima, Peponi, Karuri and parts of Mombasa road, Parklands, Upper Hill, Ngong road and Spring Valley will be restored by the end of the day.
