In Kenya varsity students fight cops, in Uganda they only take selfies
It’s a tale of university students from two cities – Nairobi and Kampala – who coincidentally took to the streets on the same day, for different reasons and in different styles.

In Nairobi, University of Nairobi students were rioting over disputed union elections, while their counterparts at Makerere University were protesting against fees policy.

But while University of Nairobi students staged running battles with police officers, leading to the indefinite closure of the institution, their comrades in Kampala were more civil; so much so that they even took time to take selfies with cops. Talk of contrasting cultures!
