Kenyan Chef Maliha Mohammed out to break two world records in cooking

Mombasa-based Chef Maliha Mohammed is calling on Kenyans to support her financially as she seeks to break two Guinness World Records later this year.

Maliha made history in 2019 when she broke the world record for the longest cooking time by an individual.

She cooked non-stop for 75 hours at the Kenya Bay Beach Resort on August 18, 2019, displaying over 400 recipes encompassing both local and international cuisines.

Having submitted her request to Guinness, which was approved, the chef now says she will be attacking two world records this year, the longest cooking by an individual marathon, which is scheduled for August 11, 2023, and the Home Kitchen Cooking Marathon set for November 11, 2023.

Being an enormous project, Maliha is now calling on Kenyans of goodwill to support her financially as she prepares for the task ahead.

“I will be doing my training in May, June and July to prepare for my first record attempt in August. I am calling on sponsors to come on board as they did in 2019. For my training, I need Kenyans to donate in kind or in cash towards this journey. Let’s finish what we started, help bring back the record to Kenya” Maliha says.

Chef Maliha’s record was recently broken by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci who cooked for 100 hours nonstop. To support Chef Maliha, one will have to visit her social media handles.
