Kenyan church warns West against LGBTQ agenda

By Titus Ominde October 25th, 2023 2 min read

Religious leaders are decrying hidden motives by Western Countries being used to push Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LQBTQ) agenda down the throats of Kenyans and other African nations; the foreign culture as parliament and state remains mum.

Speaking in Eldoret on October 24, 2023, Anglican Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit asked the Western nations to stop pushing the LGBTQ to Africans.

Bishop Sapit said it was wrong for Western nations which had made LQBTQ part of their lives and even the law to push the same to African Countries which respect morality and the law of God.

“We know God created mankind to procreate and bear children through man and woman relationship but not through any unacceptable means,” Bishop Sapit said.

Bishop Sapit reiterated that LQBTQ was not ungodly since it was a creation of demonic forces with no regard for humanity and the word of God.

The bishop urged Kenyans not to yield to the pressure of Western Countries to compromise morality.

“May prayer is that Kenyans should continue to respect our cultures and beliefs and avoid being misled into foreign behaviour,” Bishop Sapit said.

The cleric said due to the laxity of the government in the fight against LQBTQ parents are very much concerned about their children in schools and other social places.

Speaking at Uasin Gishu County headquarters in Eldoret on Tuesday during a courtesy call to Governor Jonathan Bii, he urged parents to be more vigilant during this long holiday.

“I challenge parents to be more vigilant during this holiday season and ensure they are close to their children to protect them from being influenced by demonic cultures such as LGTBQ

The same position was echoed by the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) which has vowed to be protesting against LGBTQ every Friday after their worship.

CIPK North Rift chair Sheikh Abubakar Bini regretted that the government has remained silent on LGBTQ even after the Supreme Court legalized it.

“It is unfortunate that the government is silent about this evil called LGBTQ, we will be demonstrating every Friday to condemn it until our president hears our cry over it,” said Sheikh Bini.

Sheikh Bini challenged President William Ruto to come out clearly and form a task force to review the Supreme Court ruling on LGBTQ.

The cleric said if the issue could have been political it would have become the agenda of the nation and since it revolves around ethics the government has gone silent about it.
