Kenyan teen involved in store shooting in US found shot dead


The body of a 16-year-old Kenyan teen in United States was on Monday found on the shores of a lake days after he was allegedly involved in the shooting of a 79-year-old store owner in Puyallop, San Francisco.

Franklin Wainaina Thuo’s body was found on Monday, two days after the shooting of Soon Ja Nam at her corner store. According to Q13 Fox a local news outlet, two teens armed with guns stormed the store on Saturday evening and demanded cash before shooting dead the owner.

Police said Thuo’s body had several gunshot wounds. They suspect he may have been killed by his partner and his body dumped.

The getaway car that they used, registered under his name, was found near the body with license plates removed.

His accomplice, also 16 years old, was arrested in a parking lot on Wednesday.

Thuo’s family announced his death to friends in the US but did not indicate the cause.

“We regret to announce the sudden death of Franklin Wainaina Thuo of Federal Way. Franklin passed away yesterday,” the family said.

Family and friends are meeting to plan for his burial.
