Kenyan attacker Mercy Moim has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Finland top flight volleyball league.

The Kenya Prisons player joined Liiga Plooki last September on a temporary arrangement at the back of impressive performances for the national women volleyball team at the FIVB Grand Prix in Mexico and Croatia.

But the 25-year old has since hit the ground running at her latest work station, as proven by his statistics that include scoring 442 points in 22 league games, to emerge as the second highest scorer in the competition.

“I am so happy for this achievement and speechless at the same time” Moim told Nairobi News.

“My main target however remains winning the championship which is why the team’s focus is on the play offs” She added.

Moim is also expected to play a vital role in Kenya’s quest to retain the Africa Cup of Nations title, plus qualify for both the All Africa Games and World Cup.
