Kenyans defend ‘hero’ Maraga after Ngunjiri petition
Kenyans online have defended Chief justice David Maraga against a petition filed by Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) seeking the removal of the CJ from office.
Mr Wambugu on Thursday morning, in a 14-page petition, accused the CJ of gross misconduct.
He claimed that the CJ has been held captive by a group of Non-Governmental Organisations who have been against Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency since 2013.
Justice Maraga, Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu, Justice Smokin Wanjala and Justice Isaac Lenaola nullified the August 8, presidential election citing irregularities and illegalities in the transmission of results.
Justices Njoki Ndungu and JB Ojwang dissented, giving the election a clean bill of health.
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans on twitter.
Mr. Wambugu Ngunjiri is irredeemably daft for imagining he can take on Chief Justice David Maraga for annulling Uhuru’s win.

No one should ever take Wambugu Ngujiri seriously. His suit against Kenya's Chief Justice David Maraga is a hopeless waste of court's time.
