Why Kenyans are pissed off with Jicho Pevu-DP Ruto bromance

Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has stirred a little storm on the blogosphere after sharing photos of himself shaking hands with Deputy President William Ruto.

The journalist turned politician’s gesture has eliciting a myriad of reactions for what many interpreted as backtracking the once vocal government critic.

Even the MP’s brief statement of how during the meeting he brought to the DP’s attention issues of importance to his Nyali constituents was dismissed by his online followers.

The users also didn’t take kindly his pledge to work with the Jubilee government in service delivery, noting that they are the same leaders he called out in his investigative TV series Jicho Pevu.

Jackson Muciocs commented, “Mohammed I really supported your agenda when you had signs of national leader. As an investigating journalist you did me proud, a national leader. Congratulations. You exploited alot of evils and corrupt leaders, but you’re now contaminated and stinking just because of political tactics. I don’t support you anymore more. May God raise another hero.”

Chisano Joaquim wondered, “Huyu ni yule Moha who vehemently condemned grabbing of a school playground of Langata Primary school? Can you jog your memory on what you said at Jeff Koinange’s show JKL live at then KTN about Ruto? What’s your say Moha about 700 % increment of MPs pension? Power can change a person.”

Kelly Inyani wrote, “Can Moha read my comment really? If Yes then let me ‘open my heart’ Woooow! The prados and Range Rovers, the pin stripped suits and expensive meals and titles have magic. Each single day I would wait with bated breath for you to start exposing them, and you surely did! You gave them names, very ‘heavy’ names and you made us ‘hate’ them for all social vices… your disgust was our disgust… what changed?”

Odengo Evans stated, “This is a journo who hit them hard & called them names & unearthed their dirty deeds. Now he is busy dining with them. Infact he is them.”

Alfred Be’muloka Karisa commented, “Mohaa…Kumbuka nyani haoni kundule…bali mpaka walioongozana huona la mwenzake…pevuka kama jicho pevu mheshimiwa, ila ukivaa nguo zao wanyali watakuonyesha lako.”

But not all of them were as judgemental.

Shee Hassan wrote, “As muslim leader straight forward person, I like your Idea of reaching out to other leaders for the benefit of Nyali constituency. Bravo muheshimiwa!!!”

Fahima Fahima added, “Ulishake hands even before Raila and this people are condemning you… Kudos my MP.”
