Contributions for child with defective kidneys hits Sh 6m in 2 hours
“Imagine you are 3 years old and you have been given one month to live. You were born with defective kidneys, one’s been removed, the other is failing what would you do?”
Those are the words of renowned TV personality Jeff Koinange on his weekly show JKL on KTN that in just a couple of hours on Thursday night moved Kenyans of goodwill to raise more than Sh 6 million for a three year old child in need of urgent medical treatment to save his life.
As was the case two months ago with University of Nairobi student Emmanuel Otieno popularly known as Jadudi, the generosity of Kenyans shone through in support of baby Jeremiah.
DEFECTIVE KIDNEYS
According to Jeff, the 3-year-old Jeremiah was born with defective kidneys and is an only child since his mother has had two still births and three miscarriages.
During the show, Jeff put up a pay bill number and asked Kenyans to do for baby Jeremiah what they did for Jadudi.
Kenyans came through and within 2 hours more than Sh 6.6 million had been raised even as Jeff has kept updating his followers via Twitter.
In one his Tweets on Friday Jeff said: “Just to keep you in the loop, so far YOU have raised Sh 7.25 million for 3yr old #Jeremiah… CONGRATULATIONS to all of YOU… God is GREAT!!
Baby Jeremiah is meant to undergo a surgery in India to correct his condition.
