Kenya’s horrendous run the HSBC IRB World Series continued in the third leg of the circuit at the Nelson Mandela Bay in Port Elizabeth as the team lost its opening two matches to Wales and hosts South Africa.

A 29-5 loss to the European nation was followed by a 38-7 spanking by the African side to relegate Kenya to the Bowl competition for the third successive tournament.

Wales up 17-5 in the first half before tries from Lee Williams and Jason Harries extended their lead to 24 points in the second period to put the result beyond Kenya.

Kizito Mangeni scored Kenya’s lone try against Wales’ five touch downs.

In Kenya’s second match, Seabelo Senatla set South Africa on course for victory when he tore away from his pursuers to cross the line for the first try of the game.

Branco du Preez added the second try four minutes later, after crossing the line at the right corner. A further try from Cecil Afrika stretched South Africa’s lead before Kenyan skipper Andrew Amonde was sin-binned for a high tackle. Another Senatla’s try took South Africa 26-0 ahead at the break.
