Keroche Breweries toasts to K’Ogalo’s victory
Keroche Breweries has offered the biggest hint yet that a business partnership is in the offing with newly crowned Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.
On Wednesday morning the beer manufacturing company was among the first corporate entities to congratulate Frank Nuttall’s side for securing the league title for a third time running.
Gor Mahia clinched the 2015 crown by beating Sony Sugar 1-0 on Tuesday night at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Keroche’s congratulatory message came just four days after they reportedly facilitated the league champions’ stay in Nakuru ahead of the weekend league match against Ulinzi Stars that ended in a barren draw.
What’s more, the message from the brewery on Twitter was accompanied by the words mambo bado (which loosely translates to “there is much more to come”)
NEXT SPONSORS
The club’s assistant secretary general Ronald Ngala exclusively confirmed to Nairobi News that Keroche spent in upwards of Sh 250,000 to accommodate the team in Nakuru last weekend.
“We approached them (Keroche) with a request to assist us host the team (last weekend), in terms of accommodation and food during our stay there. They obliged, and even ended up hosting us at their plant, we remain thankful,” Ngala said.
Nairobi News has also learnt that the County Governments of Mombasa, Siaya and Migori have footed the cash-strapped club’s accommodation expenses during the course of the current title winning season.
Besides Keroche, Gor Mahia has also been congratulated for winning the championship by league rivals Ulinzi Stars and AFC Leopards.
From all indications, Keroche seems to be the next sponsors for K’Ogalo, who have been been struggling financially since Brookside Diary pulled out two seasons ago.
