If you think Khaligraph Jones is easily fazed by name calling, think again. In a long Facebook post about “Mitumba culture” that lacks dignity, controversial blogger Robert Alai said he was not impressed by Kenyan artistes who he thinks borrow heavily from the west.

“… Wyre, Khaligraph, Sauti Sol, Redsan and other leading local artistes depend on mitumba accent, content and delivery to ply their trades. It’s widely known that the furthest from Kayole that Khaligraph has travelled is Malindi. But you will find him desperately trying to deliver rap lyrics in an American accent.”

Speaking to Showbuzz in a blasé tone, Khaligraph said it was not the first time Alai had criticised his work and accent.

“That’s what he is known for. Either way, my music still bangs and the fans appreciate it,” said the rapper.
