Kidero downplays Mutua’s achievements

What does the Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero think of the praise being lavished on his Machakos counterpart Dr Alfred Mutua ?

Well, when the question was posed to him on Monday, he had a clever answer.

“A drop of water in a teacup sounds like thunder; and a bucketful in an ocean doesn’t even make a sound,” he said.

He proceeded to announce that he implementing the county’s strategic plan to make sure that he delivers on what he promised Nairobi residents.

This Friday, the county government will issue a Sh1.3 billion tender for road maintenance in the county as well as another on automation of payment systems.

The latter will see payment of services go cashless in the next three months.

Dr Kidero also added that despite having 16,000 workers, the city could be run by only 6,000.

He admitted there are challenges to staff rationalisation.
