Kidero calls for peaceful party primaries

Nairobi county governor Dr Evans Kidero has called for peaceful primaries in the lead up to the August 8 general election.

Addressing journalists during a Sunday service at Our Lady of Guadeloupe Church in Adams, Kibra Constituency, Dr Kidero asked the faithful to pray for the country and the political leaders to shun divisive politics and violence during the campaign period.

Dr Kidero also urged voters to reject leaders who engage in ethnic based politics.

FREE AND FAIR

“Let us pray for free, fair, credible and transparent elections that will reflect the will of the people. Sometimes we fight because of the kind of leaders we elect who cause division, chaos and violence through their utterances,” Kidero said.

He said that he would soon call for a meeting of all aspirants in the county to chart the way forward to ensure Nairobi County remains a peaceful place before, during and after elections.

Area MP, Ken Okoth, appealed for prayers for Nasa leaders to come to an agreement in their search for a presidential flag bearer for the August polls.
