Kidero’s lawyers serve media houses with suit papers on Mumias Sugar probe
Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s lawyers have dispatched a mountain of suit papers to two media houses he is seeking to gag against linking him to the ruin of Mumias Sugar Company.
Dr Kidero’s suit papers to Nation Media Group (NMG) and Standard Group Limited measure nearly 30cms high.
NMG legal officer Sekou Owino said he has seven days to peruse the papers and file a response with the court.
The governor has moved to court seeking to defend his nine-year stint at the helm of Mumias Sugar Company, saying he was not to blame for the current troubles facing the company.
His prayers for interim orders restraining journalists from the two media houses from linking him to the financial problems at the sugar company were rejected judge David Onyancha.
