Kipchumba Murkomen tries flight attendant job; Kenyans not impressed
Transport Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen has become the butt of online jokes after a video of him giving flight instructions surfaced.
The video captures Mr Murkomen speaking through an inter-phone aboard a Kenya Airways flight with the assistance of a flight attendant.

However, netizens were not impressed by Murkomen’s effort.
“This must be a breach of some international security airline code ama since its KQ the code and ethics are policed by banks not the civil aviation authority,” @Le_Butter_Fly said.
“Minister of transport transporting people himself,” @Account_Detail wrote.
“Power has gotten to someone’s head,” @shadipaul tweeted.
“Lakini ivi ndio kutaenda mpaka 2032 surely,” @mathenge_wahome said.
“Kuzaliwa kwa poverty ni kitu mbaya sana,” @Makiadi_ said.

Last month, Mr Murkomen is believed to have spent a “small fortune” in travelling to Manchester to watch a Uefa Europa League match between Manchester United and Barcelona at Old Trafford, a game the hosts won 2-1
If Mr Murkomen footed all his expenses, then he must have spent at least Sh1 million, given that the cost of first class flight to London varies between Sh600,000 and Sh800,000 and a match ticket at Old Trafford can cost up to Sh150,000, while high-end accommodation in London which costs up to Sh50,000 a night.

Murkomen, who appeared to have watched the game from the director’s box, shared photos of himself that captured his moments at Old Trafford. In the photos, Murkomen was in a red Man United jersey and a scarf with club colours around his neck.
“My first time ever to watch a match at Old Trafford after a long day’s work and I am very happy that we won. GGMU,” he tweeted.
