Kirinyaga Deputy Governor apologises to wife over nude video
Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri has apologised over a video showing him in a compromising situation with an unidentified woman.
The video of the politician, which has since gone viral, shows a naked Ndambiri being assaulted by unknown people alongside a woman who is also naked.
The Deputy Governor claims he is a victim of an extortion gang.
In his statement on Tuesday, he apologised to his wife, children and the people of Kirinyaga for the embarrassing and shocking video.
” I have apologized to my wife of many years who has always been my solid rock. I have denigrated her womanhood and made her the laughing stock of many. I have sought her forgiveness and I will work hard to earn back her trust. I have let my children down. They have always looked up to me for inspiration and direction . I have caused them untold embarrassment and agony. I am sorry.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to get ahead of the video and story in circulation. Right now what matters most is my family and the people of Kirinyaga who look up to me for protection and guidance. To them I stand to say sorry,” he said in the statement.
Ndambiri blamed his troubles on an extortion gang which he claims set him up. He claims the said gang has been targeting politicians.

“It’s important for all to know that there is a clique of gangsters targeting politicians for purposes of extortion. I was set up by them and they took me through an agonizing moment. To the thugs, I say your days are numbered. You will not continue in this way. I call upon the security organs to pursue and expose them,” he said.
However, it still remains unclear when and where the video was filmed.
Meanwhile, several leaders had condemned the video and calling for the arrest of those who recorded it.
Atheists in Kenya (AIK) on their part have called for the immediate resignation of the Deputy Governor.
“This matter raises serious moral issues for us as a country on what kind of moral standards we bestow on our leaders. In line with Chapter Six of our Constitution (Leadership and Integrity), we ask the Deputy Governor of Kirinyaga to immediately resign, since he has most certainly lost the trust and respect of the people of Kirinyaga County as a leader,” AIK said in a statement.
