KOT react to Google maps location to Biwott’s burial
Kenyans on Twitter have expressed mixed reactions after a photo of the late Nicholas Biwott’s funeral program was shared with Google coordinates for the location.
In the funeral programme shared with mourners during Tuesday’s requiem mass, a footnote with the location coordinates was shared.
The funeral programme had indicated that the ceremony will take place at Maria Soti Girls’ Centre in Kaptarakwa then the family will proceed to the grave side.
Google coordinates to the venue were written down in the programme and when entered online they showed a location past Kaptarakwa town in Elgeyo Marakwet.
The educational centre, which is in Kaptarakwa will host mourners for the late Biwott’s funeral.
The provision of coordinates has excited the online community as users termed the move as a first.
The most common way used in funeral programmes and other invites is usually drawn maps.
