KOT react to fake condoms alert ahead of Valentine’s Day
As the world marks the International Condoms Day on Tuesday Kenya’s online community has varied reactions to confirmations that fake condoms have flooded the market.
Population Services Kenya, which distributes Trust condoms, cautioned customers on Monday to look out for the “true marks of Trust Studded” condoms.
In newspaper adverts, the firm urged consumers to check the front face of a pack of Trust Studded to ensure that it has a triple tested icon on the bottom left side and a white stripe with pack content.
The name “Studded” should also appear in bold at the centre of the pack.
The confirmation has made Kenyans online a jittery lot as they advised each other to stay alert on the fakes especially as Valentine’s Day nears.
