KOT share savage responses they got from their mothers while growing up
Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) have shared the savage responses they got from their mothers while growing up. Many of them observed that their mothers did not have direct responses to questions asked and would often give them answers that silenced them.
For others, their mothers would never give the intended instructions as simple and articulate as they should be but often indirectly spelt out threats while rendering them.
The tweet shared by Ciku Nancy drew a flurry of feedback from KOT who all shared their experiences with their mothers.

When growing up my mum would leave us with funny instructions when going out. There's a day she said pandeni miti zote huku watu waseme nilizaa nyani 💀.

While some attribute the responses to the frustrations mothers underwent while raising many children, their traits are generational and more often than not some parents still respond to their children the same way.
These savage responses could cut across all communities in the different languages with mothers being the culprits of delivering them. Though years back, the mother’s responsibility was mostly taking care of the family and always at home tending to the farm, these accorded them plenty of time with her offspring.
Although a good number of adults who were shaped ‘the hard way’ attribute their success to the no-nonsense parenting they experienced, there is a culture shift in parenting nowadays with them changing how they even address their children.
