Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) have offered their own reasons as to why Arsenal Football Club’s private chef, Bernice Kariuki who is Kenyan, has left her job with the English Premier League side.

This after Bernice on Monday announced that her time with the Gunners was up.

“A final day flourish ❤️ Finished the season with a bang! Simply the best!!! Arsenal.. Arsenal..Arsenal..2020/2023. The best, special season ever. I hang my gloves as a very proud chef. It’s been an honor working for the best club in the whole world… I was truly humbled!” Bernice said in a statement.

Aside from previously working for Arsenal, Bernice is also a private chef in three prestigious British hotels: The Dorchester, The Lanesbourough and The Waldorf Hilton London hotel.

The fact that Bernice did give a reason as to why she is leaving Arsenal, has left room for speculation by Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) who offered their own reasons. Here, Nairobi News samples a few of their comments:

“Bernice Kariuki has announced that she is leaving her role as Arsenal Football Club chef. Hata kama ni wewe utakubali kukaa hapo kweli (Even if it was you, would you accept staying on with them)?” asked Drew Ijela.

“Bernice Kariuki a Kenyan who used to cook for Arsenal players has quit…. Citing that players like Gabriel Jesus eat a lot but they perform poorly on the field 😂😂😂,” said Warui John.

“Nakumbuka ile story ya Bernice Kariuki ati aliwahi pikia hao Arsenal players ugali walikaa siku tatu bila kuingia training ju ya kushiba. Alafu matchday kufika wakapigwa (I remember a story of Bernice Kariuki allegedly cooking Ugali for the Arsenal players. They stayed for three days without doing any training because of being full. And on match day, they were defeated),” claimed Kutooo Kutow.

“Huyo Bernice Kariuki anaacha job juu y small small things kama kukosa trophy. Hajaskia vile huku Kenya tunateseka (That Bernice Kariuki has left her job because of small matters like Arsenal failing to win a trophy. Hasn’t she heard how much we are suffering here in Kenya?),” said Shanki Austine.

“Destination Harambee stars😂,” claimed Kenn Ngetich.

According to prior Nairobi News reports, Ms Kariuki landed a job with Arsenal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ate a dish of pilau she had prepared for a Christmas party more than two years ago.

The Chelsea player then connected her with Arsenal where she embarked on a career of exclusively cooking for the first team, management and technical bench of the Gunners.
