KPL, FKF officials strike deal to end football feud

Officials of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and their Kenyan Premier League (KPL) counterparts have ended their long running hostilities over the management of the football league following mediation by Fifa.

In the deal struck on Monday, the premier league will still be managed by KPL limited, but will be renamed FKF premier league.

FKF has also agreed to withdraw all pending court cases.

The 2015 season will continue with 16 teams, but the 2016 season will feature 18 teams subject to negotiations.

Sponsorships and commercial rights for the next season will also be renegotiated.

The talks were overseen by head of Fifa delegation to Nairobi, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who doubles up as the Ghana FA President.
