Lang’ata man arrested after thieves steal gun he forgot in car


Police in Nairobi have arrested a licensed firearm holder who lost his pistol under hilarious circumstances.

The man had rushed to Lang’ata police station on Tuesday morning to report the theft of his registered Ceska pistol.

He narrated to police how he had forgotten his firearm in his car and went to sleep.

LOADED FIREARM

The firearm was loaded with ten rounds of ammunition.

According to a police report, the man got home at around 2am and went to bed. On realising that he had forgotten the pistol in the car, he went out to collect it, but found it missing.

He told police that his gun was in a bag inside the car.

The bag also contained his  firearm permit and passport.

Police arrested him as investigations continue on how he lost the firearm.

In Kayole, a suspected thug was shot and killed by police on Tuesday night near Mwenje Primary School.

ROBBING SPREE

Police received complaints from members of the public that there were two armed individuals on a motorcycle who were on a robbing spree.

On seeing the police, they opened fire prompting police to fire back. One suspect was shot while his accomplice managed to escape.

A homemade pistol with five rounds of ammunition was recovered.

The body was taken to city morgue for identification and postmortem.
