Wannabe presenter Laura Oyier sacked at Radio Africa Group

May 17th, 2015 1 min read

Laura Oyier Ogolla, the lady who attracted national publicity for failing to offset a six figure hotel bill a few months back, has now been fired by Radio Africa Group over non-performance, Nairobi News can reveal.

The development has been confirmed by well placed sources at the media house that is based in Westlands, Nairobi.

“She (Laura) has a raw talent. But then, she is not willing to harness it or even learn. This is not helped by the unprofessionalism she has displayed during her stint here, including coming to work late and contributing very little,” a source from the media house told Nairobi News.

This revelation is unlikely to surprise a majority of those who have followed the controversial Laura’s movement in the last couple of months.

DISASTROUS SPELL

Laura’s arrangement with the media house occurred days after Nairobi News exclusively highlighted the 27 year’s old plight at Milimani Courts, where she ended up following the nonpayment of her bills at Inter-Continental Hotel, Nairobi.

Radio Africa reportedly cleared the bill amounting to Sh 229, 505 thereafter, before enrolling her for a training drill as a radio presenter.

That stint proved disastrous and Laura was soon transferred to work for the company’s digital team where the going also tough for her in terms of settling down and contribution.

Various reports suggest Laura, in her typical self, has left without paying a couple of bills including for a taxi.

It remains to be seen where she will end up next, amid whispers she has agreed a branding rights deal with a water company.
