Free falling Leopards’ boss Mule under pressure to quit

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule is facing increasing pressure to step down in the wake of poor performances that the team has been posting.

Reports suggest the soft spoken Mule could be face a civilian “coup” organised by a section of the club’s ardent fans.

That there is drama in the offing at the den was best manifested in Nakuru on Saturday, when Mule was subjected to thorough “vetting” by a section of the club’s fan following the team’s 0-2 loss to Kariobangi Sharks in a Kenyan Premier League match.

This was the club’s seventh loss in nine league outings this season, a result that left the team in 12th place with 16 points from 15 matches in the 18-team league.

LOSING STREAK

The fans, in their dozens, held the club players hostage and demanded for explanation for the losing streak.

“I am probably more disappointed by this outcome than you are. We are working so hard to change this, I can assure you. Some of the players we signed in July are not available. When they are here you will see a very big difference,” Mule explained to the fans.

Nairobi News also understands that Mule is also under pressure from a section of his own executive committee.

Mule has been in charge at Leopards for the last year a period during which three coaches have come and gone.

Mule has also overseen a turnover of almost 30 players inside the last one year.
