Let me see if I will stay in this one! Akothee celebrates first month in marriage
Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth aka Akothee has celebrated her first month of marriage.
In a post she shared on her social media pages, a happy Akothee said she has been a wife for a whole month and asked her fans to clap for her.
Known for her go-getter and self-sufficient nature, Akothee has in the past revealed her lovers in the limelight, and even when the relationship is on the rocks, she has not been afraid to own her truth.
As a result, her wedding was a big deal in the country, with many doubting Thomases not believing she would walk down the aisle.
But she did, proving to single mothers and ageists that you can meet the love of your life and tie the knot at any age and with up to five children.
So 10 May 2023 was exactly one month after she exchanged vows with Denis Schweizer, aka Omosh.
To commemorate the day, the Kula Ngoma na Mama Oyoo hitmaker shared a video of her wedding day: “Today marks 1 month since I got married. I have been a wife for one month, clap for me. Let me see if I will stay in this one. So God help us.”

However, as she is getting married on her birthday and in Kenya, Akothee is planning another wedding ceremony. She has revealed in the past that she will be flying to Switzerland in July to get married again.
Akothee tied the knot at an invite-only event at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, with her swagger, status and a packed guest list. Her wedding was the talk of the town for several days.
She says she met her husband through a mutual friend, Pius, when she was in France.
“We had a video call and I told his friend – who is now Omosh – about my touring business, which he was interested in… It was all business,” she recalls.
She explained that the business meeting arranged by her friend Pius and Omosh in Switzerland was the beginning of their romantic relationship.
