Lifeless body found floating in Nairobi River near Globe Cinema

Authorities in Nairobi have initiated a thorough investigation following the unsettling discovery of a man’s body found afloat in the Nairobi River vicinity, close to the Globe Cinema roundabout.

The incident prompted a swift response from the police, who were alerted to the scene on a Sunday morning.

The identity of the man remains unknown, and law enforcement officials were unable to ascertain the duration of time he had spent in the water.

The Nairobi County fire brigade was summoned to assist in retrieving the deceased individual from the riverbank.

Preliminary observations by the police indicated no apparent physical injuries; however, the ultimate determination of the cause of death will be made by the medical examiner.

According to the police, the body seemed to have been dumped at the scene.

In December last year, former Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip was rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital after muggers attacked him at Globe Roundabout.

The former nominated Senator was found bleeding by police officers on patrol and explained to them that he had been attacked by several youths who also robbed him.

According to the police, Mr Anwar was walking to a guest house in Ngara at around 9:45 pm when he was apparently attacked.

“Officer on patrol found the former Senator at Fig Tree bleeding on his head and mouth. He told the officers that he was coming from CBD on foot enroute to his guest room in Ngara area and when he reached Globe Roundabout, he was attacked by a group of youths,” he said.

The thugs made away with his mobile phone and other valuables.

He was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital, where he is receiving treatment in fair condition.
