No, Lilian Muli is not giving away free iPhones

Citizen TV news anchor Lilian Muli has warned her fans against getting duped by online fraudsters who are been circulating information that she will be giving away 100 iPhones for free on February 10, 2017.

The celebrity TV anchor was reacting to a Facebook post that first appeared Tuesday. She termed the post as a scheme by someone out there who is trying to con people using her name.

The fraudster asked people to first like the post then make a comment then choose the colour of the phone they want and the winners will be messaged via Facebook on February 9th.

The TV anchor, who goes by the name Lilian Nzisa Muli on Instagram and not Lilian Muli Kanene (as was posted on Facebook), responded with an alert to her followers, “Imposter alert this is not me.”

Online users took on her Twitter page to poke fun at the imposter while pointing out that the Instagram post, the word messaged was misspelled as “massaged”.

On the imposter’s Facebook page, hundreds of unsuspecting people went ahead and followed the given instructions while requesting their favorite colours.
