Lillian Ng’ang’a hits back at ‘body shamers’
Former Machakos First Lady, Lillian Ng’ang’a, has again found herself at the centre of attention, this time addressing the insensitive comments made by family members regarding her body weight.
In a candid revelation, she expressed her dismay and frustration over the lack of body positivity exhibited by those closest to her.
“I went upcountry the other day, we met family members and the first thing they said was: Lillian, kaewanorire atia? (How fat have you become). Don’t these people know body positivity?” Ng’ang’a revealed. The former county first lady, who welcomed a baby just last year, seemed perturbed by the lack of sensitivity regarding her postpartum body changes.
Expressing her disappointment at the lack of support from her own family, Ng’ang’a highlighted the impact of such comments on her mental health. “How much comments can trigger me and affect my mental health?” she questioned.
The mother of one defended her commitment to a healthy lifestyle, citing her consistent efforts in working out. She took the opportunity to address the misconception that her physical appearance was not a result of her neglecting fitness but rather a natural part of her postpartum journey. The former first lady’s frustration was evident as she emphasized the need for more considerate and supportive behavior, especially from those who are closest to her.
Just three months after giving birth, Lillian stepped out in style by flaunting her post-delivery body which left her fans in awe.
Donning a black dress that blended well with her skin colour and body type, the diva stepped out to enjoy some sunshine and captured the moments on camera as she celebrated her well-toned body.
Walking gracefully on a footpath, before making a U-turn and walking away, Lillian flaunted her post-delivery body in the short clip.
She captioned the clip: “Fourth trimester.”
She has been generous enough to her fans, bringing them along in the journey of motherhood and parenting by sharing the precious moments captured on camera and marking every month in style.
Sharing a glimpse of her son at the time, she noted, “On 22.07.22 at 10:11 a.m, A little, magical boy gave me a new title Mommy. Today, I could not wait for the sunrise to see his most wonderful smile as he turns 2 months old. Utheri, my boy. Mommy is at the zenith of happiness because of you. Happy 8 weeks boy.”
In an interview with Citizen TV, Lillian opened up on her marriage to the celebrated musician, including her motherhood journey.
She further stated that she has a lot of peace of mind and that her life is perfect as it is, adding that although much has happened, there is hardly a thing she could have changed owing to the challenges the two have had as a result of being in the limelight.
