List of areas in Nairobi that will be affected by a power blackout
Seven counties will today, September 28, 2023, experience power interruptions the Kenya Power has said.
In a statement, the electricity provider said that the blackout will result from network maintenance.
Nairobi County will be the most affected among the seven counties, with Muthaiga Estate topping the list.
Parts of the Muthaiga Area that will experience the blackout include Muthaiga Road, Karura Avenue, Muthaiga Crescent, Naivasha Avenue, Tchui, Serengeti, Matundu Road, Mua Park, Gertrude Hospital, Orchard Cl, Muthaiga Gardens, Muthaiga Inn and adjacent customers.
Saika Area will also be affected by the power interruptions, with areas that will experience the power interruptions being parts of Kangundo Road, Saika Estate, Obama, KPCU, Silanga, Slaughter House, Maili Saba, Kayole Junction, and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kangundo Road will also be affected by the power interruptions. The specific areas that will be affected include Coca-Cola, Supa Loaf, Kamongo Waste Paper, Parts of Umoja 3, and adjacent customers.
Wilson Airport and Lang’ata Area will also be affected by the blackout. The specific areas which will be affected include; Moi Educational Centre, School of the Blind, Deep West, Kogo Flats, Jonathan Ngeno, Weston Hotel and Uchumi Lang’ata.
Other areas include Dam Esta, Kogo Flats, Uhuru Gardens, Deliverance Church, Langata Primary School, Uhuru Gardens Estate, Ocean Park Apartments, Sunshine School, Parts of T Mall, and adjacent customers.

In Kilifi County, the following areas will also be affected, Kokotoni and Jimba. The specific areas that will be without electricity include Simakeni, Kaliang’ombe, Kokotoni Center, Corrugated Iron Africa, Jimba Village, Jimba Secondary School, Boyani Village, Kaoyeni Primary School, Ngafeni and adjacent customers.
Parts of Trans Nzoia and West Pokot Counties will also be affected by the power interruptions. The specific areas include Kapenguria and Maili Saba.
The specific areas that will be affected include West Pokot, Makunga, Bakhita, Goseta, Emoru, Taito, Maili Saba, Milima, Aruba, Kesogon, Kimeloi, Kaisagat and Kapsara.
Other areas include; Chebarus, Kabolet, Makoi, Chisare, Ngonyek, Minex, Sibanga, Sirwo Resort, Namba Nne, Kirita, Sitatunga, Cooperative, Marura, Makuyu, Bwayi, Makhonge, Mutua, Maili Saba, Kipsaina and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kisumu County will also be affected by the scheduled power interruptions. The specific areas are; Ujenzi Quarry, Ober Kamoth, Paga Beach, Obambo, Lisuka, Sabako, Usare, Ogal Beach, Kaloka Beach, Chuth Ber, Kabibi Market, Osiri, Uradi, and adjacent customers.
Migori County was also on the list, and the specific areas that will be affected by the power interruptions include Onjele Hospital, Ragana, Kenya Relief, Kowino, Karamu, and Kugisingi.

Others include Ngisiru, Moheto, Mabera, Motemorabu, Kubweye Secondary School, Komomwamu, Nyabohanse, Isibania Boys, KCB Isibania, KRA Isibania, Nuru Isibania and adjacent customers.
In Embu County, the areas of Gatondo and Muchonoke will be affected by the power interruptions. The specific areas that will be affected include- Gatondo Coffee Factory, Kiamuringa Market, Kavingory Dispensary, Muchonoke Market, Muinganania, Mukunguru Market, Mukunguru School and Siakago Hospital.
Others include Siakago Market, Siakago Boys and Girls, Siakago DO’s, Riandu Market, Minuri Market, Kanyaga Market, and adjacent customers.
Isiolo County was also listed, and it will be affected by the power interruptions. The specific areas include the Red Cross, Isiolo Catholic, Kambi ya Juu, Sweet Waters, Kulamawe, the Whole of Isiolo Town, Commercial Banks, KPLC offices, and the Judiciary.
Others include Ardhi House, Isiolo Police Station, IEBC offices, Office of the Ombudsman, County Public Service, EACC offices, Downtown and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kiambu County will also be affected by the power interruptions. The listed areas include Red Hill Villas, Kabuku Water, Potatoes Research, Mulango Farm, Munyaka, Terasol Farm, Limuru International, and adjacent customers.
Other areas include Kigwa Farm, Kwaheri Road, Parts of Thindigua, Paradise Lost, Runda Palms, Mushroom Estate, Windsor Heights and adjacent customers.
