Logarusic on a go slow at Leopards

AFC Leopards coach Zdravko Logarusic is set to miss out on the team’s league assignment this weekend in the wake of a contractual disagreement with the club’s management.

The Croatian tactician, who has been in charge at Leopards for the past six weeks, is demanding some USD 4500 dollars, ( about Sh 405,000) in salary arrears before resuming duty.

He has sat out of training for the past three sessions.

Logarusic, a former Gor Mahia trainer, was not part of the team that departed for Mumias for the clash against Thika United on Friday morning.

“He wants the money in full without compromises and yet the Chairman is avoiding him. That matter is for the two to sort because we do not have the money at the moment,” a Leopards official told Nairobi News.

In the meantime, the club has made contingency plans to place assistant trainer Youssef Chippo in temporary charge for the assignment against Thika United at the Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday evening.

Logarusic, who won three domestic titles with Gor Mahia during an 18 month spell that commenced in 2012, has a history of revolting during contractual disputes with his employer.

Cash strapped Leopards are placed fifth on the top flight table standings, having amassed seven points from four league outings.
