Lovely family photos of departed Vioja Mahakamani actor Gibson Mbugua
The family of the late Gibson Mbugua Gathu released some lovely photos of their family as part of the memories they hold of their late father. The late Gathu is set to be buried in Matundura Village in Nyandarua County on January 3, 2023.
He left behind a wife, Margaret Njeri, whom he married in 1994 after courting her since 1988. They tied the knot at Kayole Catholic Church on December 10, 1994 and were married for 28 years before his death on December 22, 2022.
The late Gathu is also survived by three children – Trizza Mwihaki Gathu, Grace Wanjiru Gathu and Ian Mbugua Gathu. He had several grandchildren, including Ariella Hadassah and Jadiael Shalom.
The renowned Vioja Mahakamani actor, who featured on the long-running show for decades, was also brother to Nicholas Gathu, the late Rose Wambui Mburu, Harold Wangai, Typhine Wangari Kiarie, Wellington Muturi Mbugua, Rose Wambui Mbugua, Josphat Ndungu, Elizabeth Wanjiku, Anothony Ndungu and Dubson Kuria Mbugua.
He was also an uncle and cousin to many.
“Grandpa, we loved you so much. You loved us and gave us the best. Anything we asked for, you gave us. We will miss how you played with us and danced with us. We will miss the outings you to took us to. We always wanted to spend time with you. Thank you for being the best grandpa ever. We used to take walks and play chess with you. You bought us a lot of good things. You promised us more chess games and more fun times and we prayed everyday for you to get better. Now you are in heaven and we will miss you grandpa. Rest well grandpa, we love you always,” his grandchildren mourned him.
The late Gathu’s body is set to be transported from the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi to Matundura in North Kinangop in Nyandarua County. He will be laid to rest after a church service presided over by ACK St Catherine’s Reverend Lillian.
