Lupita charms red carpet with Sh60m accessories
Oscar winner Lupita Nyongo’s classy outfit and accessories valued at Sh 60m left her fans dazzled at the 2016 Toronto Film Festival that took place on Saturday.
During the event where she was promoting her film, The Queen of Katwe, Lupita, wore a vibrant yellow strapless dress with intricate flora detailing on the bodice, and accessorized the formfitting look with a matching blue headdress.
Lupita topped her elegant outfit with accessories reported to be valued at Sh 60.75m ($600,000) from Tiffany and co.
According to the Daily Mail she wore Tanzanite and diamond earrings, worth Sh2.9m ($29,000), a Sh27m ($270,000) sapphire and diamond ring and an 8-carat yellow diamond ring that cost Sh 32.9m ($325,000).
Her look, which is also similar to that what most African women in power wear, seems to be channeling her role in the Ugandan movie where she played the role of a widowed mother trying to raise her family amid the crushing poverty of a Kampala slum.
