Lupita stuns at Cannes festival in grasshopper green
Actress Lupita Nyong’o became the talk of the night after she emerged in a Gucci green gown for the opening of the 68th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southeastern France.
Lupita dominated the event with what she called grasshopper green perhaps, coining it from the famous Nairobi blue Oscar gown.
“It’s #GrasshopperGreen for @festivaldecannes opening night. Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason #cannes2015,” she wrote on Instagram.
The custom-made emerald green embroidered gown gave photographers the time of their life as the Oscar winner waved the dress on different angles.
Her green gown, complete with embroidered crystals and silk flowers, was paired with green satin open toe heels for the ultimate red carpet look.
Lupita rocked a high bun of her natural hair which she said had been inspired by Ugandan women.
She incorporated a hair accessory to the bun and wore Chopard drop earrings and rings to match her look.
