Lupita’s Sh13m Oscar dress stolen from hotel room
A pearl-encrusted dress worth Sh13.6 million ($150,000) that actress Lupita Nyong’o wore to the 2015 Oscar awards has been stolen.
The dress was stolen when the actress was out of her room at the London Hotel in West Hollywood.

Both the thief and the designer dress were gone by the time police were notified shortly before midnight of a fashion felony so well-executed it seemed almost scripted.
Nyong’o, 31, last year’s winner as Best Supporting Actress for director Steve McQueen’s acclaimed movie about slavery, was there when investigators arrived.
Investigators believe the gown was stolen between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, and said there was no forced entry and nothing else taken from the room during the daring dress-napping.
The custom-made Calvin Klein Collection by Francsisco Costa dress was studded with 6,000 natural white pearls.
No one has been arrested in connection with the theft.

The figure-hugging frock featured intricate white beading from top to bottom, a halter neckline and sexy keyhole cut-out.
“The pressure’s off. I can just dress up and enjoy the show,” she said.
