Main suspect in Eric Maigo’s murder detained for 21 days
The court has allowed Police to detain the main suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo for 21 days.
Milimani Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul allowed the request by authorities to detain the suspect, namely Ann Adhiambo for three weeks.

In arriving at the ruling, Ms Abdul observed that the nature of the case was serious, sensitive, and of public interest.
She also ordered the suspect, who is a girl aged between 15-17 years to be taken to hospital for treatment.
The court also ruled that Police need ample time to conclusively investigate the case which will include recording statements from intended witnesses.

Authorities reportedly nabbed Adhiambo in Kibera, a Nairobi suburb, on September 25, 2023, after she had reportedly settled to sleep at her friend’s place.
She has been on the run since CCTV footage appeared to show her scaling a wall said to have been at the home of the deceased.
A post-mortem report of the deceased suggests he died of severe bleeding caused by 25 stab wounds.
Police will expect to unravel among others, what the suspect, who is a minor, was reportedly doing at the deceased’s place at the time the incident happened.
The case will be mentioned on October 17, 2023.
