Maintain order in your maandamano or else… Malala warns Raila


UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has asked Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition Raila Odinga leader to ensure his supporters maintain peace and order in the planned Monday protests for the sake of his safety.

Mr Malala The outspoken politician said that if the Monday protest will be governed by chaos then the government will deal with Mr Odinga ruthlessly.

“Mr Raila Odinga, you are not above the law. If law and order will be broken during your maandamano, the government will deal with you the same way it does with bandits in Turkana,” Malala said.

Mr Malala further claimed Mr Odinga and his supporters are planning to destroy property during the mass demos.

His sentiment came just a day after Mr Odinga and his political allies assured Kenyans that the planned demos will be peaceful.

Mr Odinga has also said that he will not be intimidated by anyone as he maintains that the Monday demos will continue as planned.

“We cannot be intimidated by William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua. I want to tell them that I fought for the second liberation of this country. The two cannot understand what I have gone through. I was arrested, charged in court and went to prison in 1983 but was discharged for lack of evidence. I have been fighting for democracy and was put in detention for eight years when some of them were still breastfeeding,” Mr Odinga said.

“The lion (Moi) was dreaded but we uprooted its teeth. I am ready and prepared to pay the ultimate price while fighting for the liberation of Kenya,” he said.
