Man arrested for killing son in Laikipia


Detectives in Laikipia have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his son, killing him on the spot following a domestic quarrel.

In a police report seen by Nairobi News, Mr David Simon Lengoiboni, 49, allegedly stabbed his son Robin Jilano in a manner that exposed his intestines.

“It was reported today by Mr Francis Muthura who is the chief Melwa Location through the phone that there was a murder incident at his area of jurisdiction. It is then that police officers proceeded to the scene,” the report read in part.

When the officers drawn from regular police arrived at the scene it was established the deceased died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

The officers managed to rescue the suspect from an irate mob that was baying for his blood.

According to the police, he appeared injured since he had been beaten by a section of members of the public as they asked him to explain what had really transpired.

The officers then rushed the man to Rumuruti Sub County Hospital where he is currently being treated.

Already, plans are underway to arraign him in court after the officers managed to get the murder weapon which had blood stains. It is now kept as an exhibit.

The scene was processed and the body was taken to Nyahururu Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
