Patient commits suicide at Coptic Hospital

A 41- year -old man Monday jumped to his death at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi in a case of suspected suicide.

Grace Wanza said that she took her ailing husband, Stephen Zakayo, to Coptic Hospital on May 2 this year at around 4 p.m. where he was admitted in room number 519.

She said her husband jumped from his bed to the lower basement and was later rushed to the intensive care unit where he was pronounced dead at 1.30 a.m. The body is being preserved at the Coptic Morgue.

SHOT DEAD

Speaking to KNA today Zipporah Mboroki the police spokesperson said investigation had been launched to establish why the man committed suicide.

Ms Mboroki urged the public to seek guidance and counselling when facing challenges to avoid suicidal incidences.

Meanwhile, police officers on patrol shot dead a thug who was robbing a man along Komarock Mollem road. The police officers had accosted the suspect who was among the thugs when he drew a pistol but he was overpowered and fatally injured.

The officers recovered one homemade pistol and a phone Samsung Galaxy. The body is lying at the City Morgue awaiting to be identified.
