Man dies fighting over meat
A middle–aged man succumbed to serious injuries after being stabbed during a fight over meat at a hotel in Migori County.
The bizarre incident happened at Ranen trading centre on Wednesday after the deceased differed with a worker at the hotel over the quantity of the meat he had served them on the table.
According to a brother to the deceased Joel Awino, his sibling had visited the famous nyama choma joint in the company of two friends and ordered a kilo of goat meat.
But when the food was served to them a few minutes later, they suspected its quantity and immediately complained to the worker who immediately picked a quarrel with them.

“The difference at the hotel was however sorted out and my brother and his two friends ate and left the joint knowing that all is well with the person they differed with,” said Awino.
However, the hotel attendant later trailed the deceased and attacked him with a knife, stabbing him severally on the stomach.
He died while being rushed to a nearby health centre as his assailant escaped the scene to an unknown location.
Awendo sub county OCS Mrs. Purity Kobia confirmed the incident saying a man-hunt for the assailant had been mounted in the county and asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to inform the police.
“We are yet to arrest the man but alerts have been sent to all parts of the county to help arrest him,” Kobia told KNA.
